I Share, You Share: Blogging Resources

red ribbon gift. Image courtesy of stock.xchng®When I was contemplating a blog, I had a fantastic resource: a friend who lived and breathed social media. I knew about the influence of Slashdot and Technorati before I knew the difference between Blogger and WordPress. Once I moved more than 1,000 miles away from him and he started traveling for work, it wasn’t quite as easy to pester him with questions.

Left to my own devises, these are the resources I’ve frequented to answer my blog-related questions or help sharpen my skills.

  • ProBlogger Great for beginners as well as seasoned bloggers who are looking to grow.
  • CopyBlogger Everyone can benefit from the motivating posts on developing killer, rockin’ good blog content
  • UrbanMuse This links to Susan Johnston’s posts tagged “blogging.” She provides straightforward advice on starting and growing a blog. Although she targets fellow writers, any blogger (or aspiring blogger) could benefit from these tips.

Okay, your turn. What are your favorite sites for blogging tips, instructions and resources? Where do you turn when you’re trying to figure out how to add a new feature to your blog or grow your readership?

  1. These are great tips, Jesaka.

When I started my old blog, I also learned about web rings. Depending on your niche, you could join a topic-specific group, put a related button on your page and some magical way it would drive like-minded readers (that’s probably a bad way of putting it) to your site. Those sites (there are legions of them) were helpful as I grew readership.
