There’s no question I’m a Gleek, so I was thrilled yesterday when my beloved Glee earned four Golden Globe nominations. In the spirit of recognizing good work, I’m turning the spotlight on you. What writing-related work of yours made you the most proud in 2009?
Don’t be shy about singing your own praises. You can use an assignment for a client or for work; a published piece; an unpublished piece that was a particular labor of love. You get the idea. Be sure to tell us why this particular writing makes you so proud. And don’t forget to include links if you want other readers to check out your writing.
I’ll get us started. One of the pieces I’m most proud of is an essay about my dad. It hasn’t been published yet but it was accepted into an anthology about daughters losing their dads (with a TBD date). The reason I love this one so much is that it’s the first time I’ve written about my dad, his death when I was 11 and how his influence colored my decisions as an adult.
Okay, so this is where we start sharing. The spotlight is yours.

Hi Marguerite ~ What a great gift for your family members! That’s a beautiful idea. Thank you so much for sharing this; I look forward to reading it.
It’s interesting you mentioned that you’re proud of writing a piece about your father. In October I took two boxes out of the closet that have been stored there for years —my father’s stories. I started a blog to keep me focused and it grows a little each week. I’m calling it “Big Brother is Watching Me” and I’m giving pieces of it to family members for the holidays until such a time that it’s ready for publication. It’s at:
